Captivate 2017 Fluid Boxes Not Filling full Work Area.

New Here ,

Trying to figure out how these Fluid boxes work in Captivate 2017 but I can't get it to scale to the project correctly.  So far I can't find a tutorial that starts from nothing, meaning they have a blank canvas and click on file ->new (whatever) project.  I even went as far as to completely uninstall the program and re-download it making sure it's not some setting today.

I'm pretty sure it's a responsive project since it gives the fluid box as an option.  But if I make a new one by default it gives a big chunk of un-usuable area that I can't seem to ever get into the fluid box area.

Makes more sense by images so I'll include one that shows the tutorial video and mine side by side:  In the tutorial, it covers the full area but in mine there is a big gap of un-usuable space  and I can't seem to stretch the fluid boxes to fill the entire project area, and I follow it exactly as he's doing it.

Thanks for any help on this, it's slowing driving me crazy.

I know that White is default theme, and the first slide showing up in the Filmstrip is the Title slide.

Use the Blank master slide in any theme. Use the Fluid Boxes button to choose 3 vertical fluid boxes, keep the default setup for the parent fluid box which is created automatically. How does it look?

Sorry, I am on a Surface Pro, your screenshots were very tiny. I now looked more closely. You have the option 'Stretch to Fit' unchecked for Vertical. That is the cause of your problem. I apologize,

Which theme do you use and which Master slide? Most themes included with Captivate have already fluid boxes on the master slide. Exception is the Blank theme. Blank Master slide has no fluid boxes to start with neither.

When you reinstalled, did you delete the Preferences and Layouts folders in the Public documents?

By default it opens the White theme so that was my first try, but trying the blank one did the same thing.

Just tried deleting the preferences and layouts, but that didn't seem to change how it displays either.

Yeah! That did it.  I messed with Stretch to fit but apparently not on the master fluid box. Now it's as it should be.

Thanks for the help, figured it was something dumb and simple because most of the time it is.
