Captivate 2019 - issue with closed caption sync with audio

Hello. I have Captivate 2019 and am having some issues syncing the closed captioning with audio.

The issue is that I added the cc to the slide and I sync'd it. When I reviewed the slide, syncing in parts of the video were off by as much as 6 seconds. I then edited the cc on the cc timeline, reviewed again, and the sync was off again. For some reason it is impossible to accurately sync the captioning with the audio.  I've attempted to sync it four times now and have given up.

What is the secret to getting the captioning to sync properly with the audio?

Thanks, Marion

Are you sure the audio was added to the main timeline of each slide?  You haven't perhaps added it to an object on the slide instead or set it to be triggered by some event?  I have not seen an issue of the type you mention whenever audio was correctly set up and synchronized.

HI Rod

I should have mentioned that the closed captioning is being added to a slide that contains a video I imported to the slide. I am using the Closed Captioning in the "Edit Video Timing" feature.  Most of the captions located at the beginning of the video sync just fine but as the video progresses, the timing of the captions are all off.  The video is only 4 min in length, so not that long.

I am having this same issue.  I downloaded a 15 minute video I created in Vyond and am trying to add CCs.  I sync up the CCs to the audio in the video and when I view the completed project in HTML 5, the CCs are off.  I've tried editing and completely re-doing the project and I get the same result.  Can you please provide options.  I tried adding a slide right before the video plays and I'm still encounting this issue.  Very FRUSTRATING!

Thank you in advance for your help.

In my experience this occurs if the video is not starting at time zero on the timeline.  I was the only way I could get it to sync correctly.  I wanted the video to start at 2 seconds, So I added 2 seconds of white screen at the beginning of my video and had it start playing at time zero.

Even if I started at 0.1 seconds, the CCs would start to go out of sync, and get worse with each caption.
