Captivate 8, Poor video quality after publishing but not when viewed in captivate browser.

I am currently having the issue that when I publish my project I am getting poor video quality. This is not happening when I view the project in the built in captivate browser. Is there something that I need to do to my videos or captivate preferences to keep my quality?

To which output did you publish? Did you try to uncheck all Compression settings when publishing?

Agreed with Lieve's suggestions.

Additionally, I'd suggest pre-converting any video you have inserted into the project to MP4 first, ensuring the quality you'd like, rather than using something like FLV and rely on Captivate to convert.

Or by 'video quality' do you mean the playback of the project overall?

Are you publishing the entire piece as a 'video' (mp4)? If so, just as Lieve suggests, there are several output options in that publish panel to adjust...

I will try that.

I am publishing it as an HTML5/SWF. The video quality that I am talking about is the videos that are embedded. There are also screen caps in the project that display fine so it isn't the entire piece. I will look at the compression settings and see what I can come up with.

Thanks for your help!

Are you by any chance resizing the original videos, i.e. changing the height and width when played in Captivate?

Hi Friends,

I'm finding the same issue when I import the video file (mp4) into captivate 9. However, I'm resizing the video to fit into the slide size.

Neither in Captivate browser nor in after publishing, the video quality is good.

Can anyone please help me to overcome this challenge?

Thanks in advance

Only way not to lose quality is to NEVER resize in Captivate: create the video at the wanted resolution.
