Hello all
I’m having some trouble getting our LMS to recognise the scoring of my Adobe Captivate course. The course is published as SCORM 1.2 but when uploaded to the LMS, a certificate of completion is provided even if the pass mark was not achieved, yet the result states the course was failed. It’s very confusing for our learners. I’d really appreciate any assistance on this matter please. The LMS provider are also looking into the matter.
Thank you

The default answer to this type of problem is firstly to upload the same SCORM zip package to SCORM Cloud and test whether the results are the same as with your current LMS. In the vast majority of cases the results prove that it's going to be your LMS that has the issue, not the Captivate content. But it's a step in the process that you need to take in order to get the LMS people at all serious about investigating the issue at their end. They will ALWAYS blame the content rather than their own product.
If the LMS is delivering a Certificate of Completion, despite the course being failed, the LMS Administrator needs to check what the criteria is for this to happen. Completion and Pass/Fail are handled by the same SCORM variable in SCORM 1.2 but by two separate variables in SCORM 2004. So it's possible that by reaching the end of the course, the learner has achieved completion (despite failing the quiz) and this is all that the LMS is considering when issuing the Certificate. Perhaps the Admin needs to specify that the Certificate should ONLY be issued for passing grades instead?

Hello Rod
Thank you so much for your advice. I've been looking at how the course has been uploaded to our LMS and trying different settings in the hope that I'll resolve this while both Adobe and our LMS providers look at this. Your comments were really helpful - thanks again. I'll let you know how I get on.
