Hello Captivate community,
In Captivate 9 I have question slides (knowledge checks). They work fine for the most part.
If a user selects the correct response, clicks Submit, and hits the 'y' key they can advance. BUT, if a user selects the incorrect response first, then Submit, then the correct response, and Submit again, the 'y' key will not advance them. Clicking anywhere will advance them in this case. Does that make sense?
WORKS
Correct response > Submit > 'y' key advances
NO WORK
Incorrect response > Submit > Correct response > Submit > 'y' key does NOT advance
I cannot find any settings that would cause this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

How many attempts do you provide?

Hi-
I provide Infinite Attempts.

That means that the user will have to answer correctly before being able to continue. You should provide the 'Retry message' if you want Infinite attempts. It will never advance in your setup until the answer is correct.

You bet. And that's what happens. The problem is when they select the incorrect response first. Then click Submit. The message pops up telling them to try again. When the user then selects the correct response and clicks Submit - the correct message appears, but the key stroke to advance (y) does not function-only the click anywhere. So the user does get the right answer eventually but cannot advance with the keystroke whereas if they got the right answer in the first place the keystroke advance does work.
Thanks for taking the time to troubleshoot this.

OK, got it, will double check. Are you on 9.0.1.320?
Works perfectly for me. What is the Success action. I left it at Continue which is the default action.

Yes, that's right.
I publish for devices, allow mobile gestures and accessibility. I'd be glad to share any additional settings that may be causing this.

You mean that it is a responsive project? Will test in such a project. Did you delete any embedded object on the Knowledge check slides? Did you change the pausing point of those slides?

Yes, it's a responsive project. I didn't delete embedded objects. When I added an audio clip to the correct feedback the timeline did extend to include it (Captivate asked me if I wanted to do this).

Can you post a screenshot of the timeline. Maybe you have to move the pause.

has this been sorted - maybe check your timeline to make sure it's not just sticking further along the timeline
