Does anyone have any samples of gamification using Captivate? Can't find any on YouTube or here in the forums -

Thanks!

I've been working on a game in Captivate that involves learners finding product information to help customers within a time limit, with a score that increments every time a customer is successfully helped. The "game" provides links to the actual resources the learner would use. There are three levels, with less time allowed in each level, and less help available, so that by the final level they are relying on their own knowledge.  The customers are pulled randomly from question pools so that it's a different experience every time it's played.

The idea is to have it report to our LMS and use the reporting feature to display a leaderboard comparing the top individuals and stores.

Is that the sort of thing you're thinking of?

When you say gamification, do you mean games built in Cp or elearning samples with gamification principles built in (like scores, leaderboards, badges...)?

We use Cp here in the office, so I'm wondering if there were some features of Cp (we're upgrading to Cp7 and have Cp5 currently) that help the develop gamification principles in eLearning more easily. I'm really wanting to move into this aspect of training and have been studying up on it, but think some examples of it in action might really help.

There are many different examples of game based learning (GBL) using Captivate (Cp), most of these come in the form of Jeopardy! style games, or matching games. Out of the box Cp does not have specific functionality focused at building gamification into your eLearning, but with some time, effort, and creativity it could be done. I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to create, but my initial feeling is that you should investigate other tools to develop your games in, and then possibly embed them in a Cp project if you are wanting to scaffold the learner's knowledge before playing the game. There are some pretty good GBL builders you can find online for free, but most of them are k-12 focused. I listed some links to some tools I know of and some articles on building good GBL. Good luck!
