Closed captions with Captivate 5

Although, I went through the help part and some of the earlier discussion it didnt solve my problem. I would simply like to include sub-titles (close-captions) on my slide. these are the instructions I followed:

  1. Select the check boxes in the closed captions column and corresponds to the notes you want to convert to closed captions.

  2. Click Closed Captioning.

  3. In the Closed Captioning of the Slide Audio dialog box, adjust the start time and end time for the caption.

  4. Click the + icon to add additional closed captions. Click the ‘-’ icon to remove closed captions.

  5. Click CC Project Settings to change the font, size, color, background, and the number of lines in which the captions must be displayed.

the thing is: although when I click on 'Captions & Slide Notes...' under 'Slide Audio' , the text seems to be included only under the Slide Notes and not under the Captions. And it does not allow me to copy/paste the text under the Captions tab. When I try checking the preview, the sub-titles are not visible.

I know I am working in the right area but just need a hint so I can finally have the closed captions. Screen shots would really help too:)

    Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

I'm not sure I do understand your question, but will give it a try. You can only add Closed Captions to slides with audio. Do you have audio? Play the audio, stop where you want to add CC, add it, then continue playing audio etc. In the screenshot I added 3 lines of CC-text on different times.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I do have audio. But it is the text-to speech audio that I input using 'Audio'<< 'Speech Managment'
