Can you make colored bullets in Captivate, or do you have to import them from PowerPoint?

    Firsed,

I think the colour and size of the bullet follows the colour and size of the first character on the line.

The only way I could get a coloured bullet was to put a space as the first character and format it as red.

    Hello

or if you want you can add manually a bullet point  (shortcut Alt +0149)  and color the bullet as you want.

I might disagree slightly with Lieve this time.  I think what Lieve might be opposing here is the gratuitous OVERUSE of bullets in e-learning, which is definitely a bad thing and DOES kill learning.

As a Technical Writer in a previous life I am more of the opinion that bulleted lists and ordered (numbered) lists DO have their place at times, but should ONLY be used when the content genuinely requires it.

But just leaving out the use of bullets doesn't automatically FIX boring e-learning content.  Many of the most useful techniques we use in e-learning can also become overused and thereby depress learning effectiveness.  (I'm thinking especially of the overuse of animation and effects.)

Just as seasoning added to a meal should enhance the flavour but not overwhelm it, so we need to use creative techniques in a balanced and well-thought out way if they are to be effective.

    Rod,

    Agree totally, bullets are:

    • Useful
    • Simple
    • Elegant
