CP9: GET and POST variables to external file located on shared local server

I know we can store data onto the web browser memory via JS but is there a way to store data to an external file? I want to send and receive data from an external source so that I can use it between two modules.

We use Sharepoint and our captivate modules reside on Adobe Connect Server...
