create dummy question

Hi,

I want to create a "dummy" question to my slides that already have a number of questions reporting to LMS. The dummy question should function as an example for the user on how to respond to the questions.

However, the system adds the example (dummy) question to the total number of questions in the presentaiton, which is not necessary.

So how to change that?

    Hello,

You could put the number of point at 0, will that solve your problem? Use the right click menu, Edit Question, on the first tab you can decrement the points to 0. Or alternative: open Advanced Interaction (Project menu or F9), find the dummy question, put the number of points to 0, you could also deactivate 'Report' for this question. If you are using Default Question slides, and leave 'Show Progress' activated in the Quiz settings, the dummy question will be included in the total number of questions. Let me know if this is an issue?

Sorry, saw that this is the issue: you will have to deactivate 'Show Progress' in the Quiz Settings. If you want to show the total number of real Question slides, you can add your proper Text Caption to each slide. Do you use CP4? Hopefully, you can then define a user variable to calculate the correct slide number and one to calculate the total number of slides, by decrementing the corresponding system variables.

    Hi there

In addition to what Lilybiri offered, I also thought of this approach. As the question is really intended to be for demonstration purposes only, why not screen capture the question? Then create a standard slide where the elements appear to be an actual question, but instead are just a picture of what the question will look like. Then you could add any desired interactivity using other elements such as rollovers, click boxes and other images.

    Cheers... Rick
