Hi everyone,

I am new to Adobe Captivate and am wondering if there is a way I can create an interactive troublehsooting guide for users, and also capture their responses so we also have a record of what steps they followed while troubleshooting.  I would like this guide to include instructions coupled with images/videos, and the guide to progress according to the steps they take.

Which version of Captivate are you using, please? You find the full version number under Help, About Captivate.

Creating a guide is not a problem, however capturing their reactions can be a challenge. Will you be using a Learning Management System?

Will using an LMS allow me to gather user interaction? I am happy to do so, that data is important to me. What would you recommend?

What is the version number?

Collaboration with a LMS means that the LMS will manage the user accounts and track the interactions. You could use a Short answer question to capture some notes from the learners, or an input field.

User accounts are managed by the LMS people, not by the learners. They can be retrieved in Captivate, because in each project two variables will be available with the data of the user account. I cannot give you the exact name of those variables because I still don't know which version you are using, and those variables changed names in the most recent version.
