Cropping an Image Increases the File Size

Question

I've been having this problem for several versions of Captivate.  Has anyone found a work-around?  I import an image, then crop it in the Image Edit panel.  Captivate creates a new image file that is significantly larger than the original file ever was.  If I crop several images, the file size impacts load time on the LMS.  Cropping in photoshop is the only way I've found to avoid this issue.

I don't have an answer, but wanted to let you know you are not alone. This issue has recently come to my attention and I've experienced the same huge increase in the file size of cropped graphics.

Does anyone know how to avoid this increased file size for cropped graphics?
