Question

drag and drop not working

we have three consecutive slides of drag and drop that have stopped working on our LMS.

What happens is that it flicks through the first two slides not even giving you enough time to do the exercise. you then land on the last page f the drag and drop which allows you to do the exercise. If you get it right it will allow you to continue.

When I preview the slides in the source file they work perfectly. I republished the file and loaded the zipped file but no change, still not working.

Not sure what needs to change to make it work. This is a mandatory module so desperate to fix it up. Appreciate any help and suggestions. My skills are weak with captivate so simplicity is best. 🙂

thanks

By default a D&D slide gets a pausing point (invisible on the Timeline) at 1.5secs. Can you check that in the Drag&Drop panel undeer the Actions tab, Others:

You cannot take out that pause, but it could be set at a duration which is higher than the slide duration. Seems improbably, but you never know.

How did you test it? If this is a non-responsive project, you need to know that the only valid Preview method is F11, Preview HTML in Browser. How are the two non-functional D&D slides behaving in that Preview?

Which browser(s) did you use for testing?

thank you. I have tested it in our LMS SCORM Cloud and the Preview HTML. does not work. it only works when I hit 'preview project'. changing the pause after has no impact unfortunately

OK.  Some clarification required here.

The Preview Project option in Captivate 2019 is NOT HTML5.  It creates a temporary SWF version of your project and that's what you interact with.  So it is not a valid test of how your project would work once it has been exported/published to HTML5 on a webserver or LMS.

Captivate Drag and Drop interactions normally work very well in either SWF or HTML5. That means there must be some reason why yours would work in Preview as SWF but not in Preview as HTML.  This is what we need to establish next.

Upload the SCORM ZIP file to SCORM Cloud and test it there on a free user account.

If it performs perfectly on SCORM Cloud that would indicate the issue is with your own LMS.  Something has changed on the server and your LMS Administrator should be able to look back through their logs and see what happened.
