Ebeding problems

Hi
I cant be only one with the embedding issues that crop up with Adobe Captivate.
All is 100% ok if you take the html and use this on a page. But what if you dont want that? For example I recently started to use WordPress for my site. (I will never go back to building websites in Dreamweaver) I use video extensively to teach trading and about my software. I have used Robo Demo for years.

Problems arise when you try to embed into a php page in WordPress it Just aint gona do it! OK so a work around, is to get a plugin that will allow it. This works for ANY swf except Captivate.....now why would that be? I suspect that adobe do something at publish time, but thats another story.

I can get a captivate video to play on a wordpress site by using a plugin and entering the following.
[kml_flashembed movie=" http://www.learningtotrade.com/videos/SiteVideos/TestEditor4.swf" height="510" width="640" /]

BUT! It has not got a player around it, so thats a real bummer.

Ok take the swf file that captivate creates and load it into a player creator (dead simple, done it tons of times)
click OK to wrap the captivate swf into a new player. Point to note here is that this works with ANY swf files EXCEPT once again you guessed it Adobe Captivate.

What is going on here. There are millions of WordPress sites possibly billions by now! What is adobe up to that is preventing Captivate from putting out a simple swf file that can then be wrapped in a player of choice?

Dont get me wrong here I am MORE than happy to use an ADOBE player as long as I can embed and play in a WordPress page.

Any help GREATLY appreciated, been at it for about 20 hours just get it to show

Thanks

Hi Dax Trader

Have you tried pointing to the _skin.SWF instead of the main part of the movie?

Assuming you don't wish to do this, you might also wish to try turning off the Borders by clicking Project * Skin * Borders tab and DE-selecting the “Show Borders” check box. This would provide a .SWF with the playback controls embedded inside.

I'd try one of those options and see if you get what you are wanting.

Cheers... Rick

Hi Rick
Thanks for the speedy response. I am a BIG fan of adobe products even down to their books are high quality. As for support well I remain on the fence with that one. However YOU are one speedy reply guy!
Pointing to the skin does not work, but dumping the borders did NOW finally I can get to work.
Thanks for your help.
PS tried to sign up for your news letter but URL not found?

Here is a link to my site to see what I do with Robo/Captivate

Hi again Dax Trader

If you are by chance referring to the mailing list on my RoboWizard site, I can thank my web hosting service for totally trashing that for me. Still scratching my head over what happened.

If you are referring to some other mailing list, I'm unsure what you mean.

Cheers... Rick
