Edit a shared action in Cp9

I created a shared action and attached it to the Submit button on four knowledge questions. Now I want to edit it to add some actions, but I can't figure out how to open it for editing. Under Project > Advanced Actions, I don't see it in the list, so I can't open it there. I do see it at the end of the Library list, but when I look at the properties of the shared action, the Edit button is unavailable. I thought maybe that was because it was in use, so next I disattached it from the four Submit buttons. That didn't work, and when I check its usage, it says it is still attached to the buttons. How can I add actions to my shared action?

It is not possible to edit a shared action. You can open the shared action as template for a new action: templates are under the button 'Blank', top left of the Advanced actions dialog box. Edit the action, and save it again as shared action. It is too cumbersome, I know, so I advice to log a feature request for a more easy work flow. I did.

That's one place I didn't think to look. It was a good (but clunky) solution. I think these instructions should be added to the Help ! topic on creating shared actions--a paragraph on making changes.

I blogged several times about shared actions, and started to blog many years ago to fill in the (many?) gaps in the Help documentation. Understand totally what you mean:

Dare to Share - part 1 - Captivate blog

Dare to Share - part 2 - Captivate blog

    there is more..

You can't edit a shared action and have it's changes applied to the actions created from it.

You'll have to edit each of those actions separately or create a new shared action from a newly edited one.
