Ending a Branch

I created a movie using Captivate 2. In it there are two branches. I want to end a branch on slide 5 while the other branch continues all the way to slide 14. I haven't been able find any options to just end the movie on slide 5. Currently I have slide 5 going to 14 in order to end the movie.

How do I just end the movie on slide 5?

    Hey Doug71,

Believe it or not, you've used Captivate as it's designers intended. Captivate's built-in functionality assumes that all movies end on the last slide, which means all branches must rejoin on or before the final slide of the project.

The final slide can be blank and display for less than a second, or it can be a generic "where to go from here" slide, or whatever you like. But having all branches end on the last slide allows you to use the Project end options in the Project Preferences to control how the movie ends/exits/etc.

You could put a button or click-box on slide 5 to "continue" or "end" (whatever) and set the click-box or button "Success" action to go to a URL that thanks the user for participating, and perhaps offers a link to get back(??) Would that work?

You are not creating branching by changing parameters at the Branching" tab ... you are creating branching through the use of interactive elements such as buttons or click-boxes ... right (??)

Thank you for your welcome and reply.

Yes, I created a branch using buttons in my movie that go to seperate series of slides.

I have added a button to slide 5 like you suggested. I don't see an "end" option though. When I used the "continue" option on the button, it just went to slide 14 just like it did before. I went into the branching tab and it still shows slide 5 leading to 14.

I looked at the Branching Tutorial again. It looks like they ended their branches by refering to a URL. I guess that is one of the few options available.
