Event Video - Playback starting with last frame on second load?
Hello,
we are using Captivate ver. 9.0.0.223
In our courses we are using rendered videos as transitions from one location to another.
The videos are placed on seperate slides as event videos from a file and are set to be displayed for the rest of the slide.
There is an issue however where I´m not sure if it lies within the browser or Captivate.
It´s the most noticable in Internet Explorer though.
Browser Versions:
IE 11.103.10586.0
FF 44.0.2
Chrome 48.0.2564.116 m
The first time the video is played back you see a black screen flashing for a brief moment (1 frame) - if you go back and forth however, every time the video starts, a ghost frame (which in this case is the last frame from the video) can be seen in the beginning instead the empty / black "loading" screen.
In Firefox there is just always a white screen flashing up and in Chrome the problem doesn´t exist at all as it seems - unfortunately IE is the standard browser with most of the clients.
The issue is coming up in the preview version as well as in the online version.
The videos are in the .mp4 format and around ~1-2MB in size and we are publishing for HTML5 for SCORM 1.2 and Other Standard LMSs
I´ve tried to use fade-ins as a workaround which makes the problem a bit less noticable as you just see the video fading in and not a totally different frame in the beginning of the video.
It would be better though if there was another solution which wouldn´t require the use of fade ins as these still "rip apart" the flow.
It also seems that it isn´t possible to change the color of the fade-in so it´s always white? I think a different color might be suited a bit better in my case so did I overlook the option to change the color or isn´t it possible?
I´ve searched the forums and the net for hours but I couldn´t come up with a solution on this yet.
Any help on this matter would be much appreciated!
Cheers
Oliver
