Hello,
I created a quiz with Captivate 9. When publishing the quiz to HTML5, the failure messages (and correct / retry messages as well) are not displayed correctly. They seem to be arranged "behind" e.g. dropdown boxes. Sometimes the look gets quite weird. In case of large text entry boxes, the messages sometimes are not even readeable because the are displayed behind the text entry box.
I could not find out how the set the failure captures in the foreground. Can you help me with this?
I attached a screenshot, so you get an impression of the problem.
Thank you very much for your help!

Are those the default messages? It looks like you deleted quite a lot of embedded objects on those question slides, which may explain why you are having strange behavior. Embedded objects are those objects (with lot of inbuilt functionality) that do not have an individual timeline, not on the quiz slide nor on the quizzing master slide.

Try turning OFF the feedback messages and then turning them ON again. Sometimes that brings them to the front of all other elements on the slide (because they were the last thing added).

Hello,
first of all: Thank you very much for your support!
Unfortunately, the problem still exists. I tried to use completely "standard" question slides in a new Captivate project. I tested it with one of the build in themes. But when exporting to HTML5 dropdown boxes or text entry boxes are always in the front and overlap the build in failure /retry / correct messages.
I also tried to turn the messages off and on again. But unfortunately, that had not the desired effect and did not solve the problem. I even tried to activate the messages as the very last object on the Quiz slides, so that they should be in the front. But they appeared in HTML5 behind the text boxes again.
The problem only occurs when exporting to HTML5. In the preview window or in Flash export, the messages are displayed on top.
Do you have any other ideas?
Thank you very much for your help!

This is a user forum.
The problem mentioned by the OP is not at all happening for me and for the majority of users. This means logically that it is not a bug, but something due to something on your system. Can you answer the questions already posted in this thread (which were not answered by the original poster neither)?

Thank you for the response. Here are the answers to the questions above:
Are those the default messages? - Yes they are
Try turning OFF the feedback messages and then turning them ON again - This was attempted
We have also found a similar problem with multiple drop down answers. On the second attempt, the drop downs will hide behind other dropdown fields (see screen shot below). These issues are present when viewed locally, on a media server, & in our LMS (CSOD). The only exist in HTML 5 (both IE & Chrome).

This is a bug in the HTML5 coding that Adobe needs to fix.
Please report it using the Adobe Bug Reporting form. Adobe Captivate

Hello,
I am so glad, that i found this. Experiencing the same issue.
It might not always be possible and it looks like it will not for the screenshot shown above. But still wanted to contribute a possible workaround:
It helped for me for another slide to shift the Drop-Down Menus, so that they can not overlap. Or extend the space between the sentences, so that there is enough free space.

FIB has indeed many problems with the dropdown lists and stacking, since quite a while. You can report, Mostly I creat a custom FIB using TEB's. It has the extra advantage of being able to have partial scoring.
