Fatal Error when opening Captivate

Participant ,

I've seen several posts from years past on this, but am wondering if anyone has a current solution. When I open Captivate, a receive a fatal error message. Sometimes it seems to open a project I'm working on, then the app hangs, and closes by itself. Sometimes I try to open the project, nothing happens and when I try to open it again, I get a message that it is already open in another window (although it never in fact opened). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I am running Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit, x64-based processor. Thank you!

Which version are you using?

Can you clear the cache? Clean the preferences (look in the subfolder 'utils' under the installation folder and run the appropiate CleanPreferences file for your OS).

If you are on Windows, do you run Captivate As Administrator?

Thank you! That seemed to work! Scary to see "fatal error" messages with no solution.
