Feedback for short answer question

Hi,

How can I provide general feedback for a short answer question on the same screen? I don't need specific correct and incorrect feedback - just one type of feedback which pops up the moment learner clicks submit.

Thanks!

More explanation about tweaking the two-step Submit process in Captivate (all versions):

BTW personally I find the short answer type of question very limited (same for hotspot question). If you want to have it on a higher level, try this custom question approach:

If you want the On Success or On Last Attempt events to be available to you immediately after the user clicks the Submit button then you need to turn off the Success and Failure captions for that quiz question and make sure it is set to have only one attempt allowed.

Then you can use the On Success and On Last Attempt events to show hidden text captions on that same slide with text.  It won't matter whether the learner gets the answer correct or incorrect in this case if either event is just showing a text caption.  However, note that their correct or incorrect answer WILL still affect the final score if this quiz question is set to report to the quiz.
