Fill in the Blank User Input Box displaying answer

I have made a fill in the blank slide with a user input box. I have entered the possible answers here but they are inconsistently showing and being hidden on slides. The first time I previewed the slide (using Next 5 slides) it worked fine. But then when I previewed it in the browser, the answers were displayed.

Any idea why this is happening?

Also, now when I go back to 'Preview Next 5 slides', it appears as above, but without the white background smart shape:

I already tried deleting the slide and inserting a new one but the same thing happened.

Which version? Which theme, and is this an original or an upgraded theme? Normal or responsive project? Knowledge slide or regular quiz slide?

Captivate 2017, Theme is a custom one based on Chic, normal project, regular quiz slide

Is this an upgraded theme? That is very important. Hope you are not using a template as well?

What do you mean by 'upgraded theme'? And yes, we do usually create a new project from the template. Do you think this is what is causing the problem?

Since a couple of versions quite a lot of problems have been mentioned by users who create a cptx project from a cptl template. I strongly recommend not to use templates at this moment. For design reasons, a theme is more than sufficient and doesn't cause the same problems.

I asked if the Theme was upgraded from a previous version or created in this present version of Captivate. That may be another reason for your issues. Quizzing master slides are especially sensitive to upgrading, and they are part of the theme .
