Fuzzy or blurry text...sometimes

Hello,

We are currently working on a online project where we have several Captivate projects created by different authors using the same template.  When one of the authors publishes her project, the text does not look as sharp.  Blurry or fuzzy is the best way to describe it.

The weird thing is, if I take the same project file and publish it on my computer, the text looks fine.  It is not a matter of screen quality as the project files published by me and others look fine on all computers, and the ones published by her look blurry or fuzzy on all computers.

We are using Captivate 4, and Windows XP, and we are publishing to Flash 9 with HTML.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks,

Tim

I don't really want to dig up old posts, but I figured it'd be a better idea than creating a new thread for it.

I've got a similar issue in that; Text in projects looks sharp, but once published, it's blurry.

I've tried a lot of things, going from low JPG quality to Optimised, .swf to uncompressed .avi (300 KB to 5GB for 1 minute or so) and the above solution posted, but none of those worked at all, there's no noticable difference.

This small picture is compressed and looks a bit worse than normal. But this is what I basically look at. The above sentence is very sharp, but once published, it looks like the text in the sentence below.

I tried a lot of different sources to find a solution, but I'm at a loss now and this is my last resort.

    Hi,

I'm using captivate 5.5 now and what is really frustrating is what you see is not really what you get after you published the movie. When i preview the project in captivate, all my text and images are sharp but once i publish it with the highest quality with no compression..etc. the text and images are not as sharp as in the preview mode. Does anyone know how to fix it??

    thanks!

    Hi there

This suggests you could be viewing by simply opening the SWF and not by viewing via the associated HTML page. The HTML page contains sizing information and without that the SWF will simply adapt to whatever the browser is sized at. This will skew your bitmapped images and they will become fuzzy as a result.

So how exactly are you viewing the output?

    Cheers... Rick
