Getting slide and .wav file to automatically start playing on slide 1 in Captivate 9

Hello,

I'm using Captivate 9 and am not sure how to get the first slide and .wav file to begin playing automatically at the same time.  Currently, the .wav file (narration attached to slide) plays but I have to click the play button for the slide to begin playing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have "Auto Pla"y selected in preferences and "Skin" checked marked in "Externalize Resources"--also in preferences.

Of course! I should have asked for a screenshot of the timeline immediately, slapping my head.

You have a shape button 'SmarShape_101' (please label objects) that is pausing the slide at 1.5secs. I suspect it is a Next button, and may I give you a tip? Why do you use two objects: Text caption + shape instead of typing the text IN the shape? To solve the issue of your question: go into the Timing panel and set the Pause at about 30 secs (almost the end of your audio clip). Moreover there is no reason at all to make that slide so long. Once the audio clip is finished nothing will happen. Be also careful with attaching the timeline of SmartShape_101 and Text_Caption_WAW.... to the end of the slide timeline! If you extend the slide timeline, the whole timeline of those two objects will move to the right, endpoint is attached and duration will be kept. It is much better to use CTRL-E to extend timelines till the end of the slide. In that case extending the slide timeline will also extend the timelines of those two objects.

Thank you Lilybri and Himanshi for your thoughtful suggestions.  I have tried both of your suggestions and get the same result:

When I preview the project in a browser, the audio file (it's actually an MP3--not sure if that makes a difference), starts playing.  I can see the background
image, my main text caption and Next button, which are all set to display at 0 seconds and display for rest of slide.  Then, I need to click the play button for the remaining three text captions to appear which are set to display for a few seconds each with a FadedZoomIn entrance effect.  Below is a picture of the slide and timeline.

Thanks for any genius you can provide to solve this problem.  Let me know if you need additional info.

    Hello ,

    You can export the .wav file of the narration from the library , and in the Slide Properties Panel , Change the On Enter slide action to Play audio and add the wav file.

    Now once the slide will start it will automatically play the audio.

    @Himanshu Problem with the Play Audio command is that you cannot use Close Captioning, that is only possible for Slide audio. Same with object audio.

    That is strange, can you check the On Enter action? Normally it is 'No action' but that shouldn't prevent the slide from playing. You can try to change it to 'Continue' to test.
