This happens only on multiple choice questions, with shuffled answers, and upon retaking the quiz. The dark grey bar appears when you hover your mouse over the answer choice selections and actually blocks the text from view. However, when answering the multiple choice question the first time (prior to a retake), the grey bar that appears is much lighter and does not cover the text. No other question types had this issue, and it does not happen unless you select Shuffle Answers. That is the only common denominator.

I've never seen this issue. Can you post a screenshot?

Thank you for investigating, this Rod! Attached below is a screenshot showing the darker grey bar covering the answer text completely. You can still see the usual, lighter grey bar beneath. The answer can still be selected, but obviously this appearance is less than ideal.

It is NOT possible to attach screenshots, you have to insert them as images.

This looks like something caused by a Theme or corruption of a Theme.
Take a copy of your project (to avoid changing the original) and then change the project theme to one of the default themes that come with Captivate. Check whether the issue still remains after the Theme change. If so, then your issue is in your current Theme and you may need to either use a different Theme or fix the one you have.

Thank you for the suggestion, Rod. We tested this by changing the theme, and the issue did reappear.
Just to clarify, we created our project template using the "white" default theme in CP9 and modified it to match our standards. Do you have any suggestions for ways I can try to fix the issue without having to recreate the entire template file? Although this issue is not a deal-breaker for courses, we would like to know why it is happening and if we can improve it.
Finally, I'm curious about the fact that this issue only occurs following three exact circumstances: 1) Only on Multiple Choice question types; 2) Only when Shuffled Answers is selected; 3) Only upon retaking the quiz (issue does not exist on first attempt). It seems the scenario is so specific...why only in these circumstances do we see it? Appreciate your opinion on that. Thanks again for your help!

I'm out of ideas.
Did you say this was a Template? Are you talking about a CPTL file or a CPTX?

Hi Rod,
Thanks your time on this issue. Yes, we created a cptl file and we use that template file to begin each new project (cptx). We follow these steps: File -> New Project -> Project from Template. We then browse to the saved template file, select it, which then opens a new cptx project file. By way of background, we needed to create our own template with specific company standards in mind.
It appears the dark grey bar may be appearing in some of our older CP5.5 courses as well, so we are investigating to see if the same circumstances exist there, too.

So my question is: Is this issue only occurring when you are working on the CPTL or does it also occur the same for CPTX projects spawned from the CPTL?

Answer: We first noticed this issue with published cptx projects originally spawned from a cptl template file. However, I did further testing and discovered that you can also see the issue both when you preview a cptx or cptl file within Captivate, and when you publish the cptx file to our LMS.
Again, the issue does not appear until I select "Shuffle Answers." I did a test without shuffle answers - no dark grey bar issue. However, the second I check "Shuffle Answers," the issue appears straight away. It definitely has something to do with the shuffle answers feature.
