Hello, I'd like to know how to host or let users at work access captivate demonstrations without hosting on an LMS?

i've created a number of captivate videos and published these, they are in Zip files - is there anyway to just send a link or place one file on the shared drive to allow people to access and use captivate?

Thanks,

Ash

Using a shared LAN drive as a server location for Captivate output will often end up with issues. If your content is SWF-based, all of the end users would need to configure that LAN drive as a Trusted Location in their Flash Global Security settings, otherwise links might not work etc etc.

Your better option is to upload your content to a web server, either company intranet or general internet, and deliver it that way.

If you just want them to view the file, without tracking what they do, you can simply email the .swf file (if not too big) or put it on a shared drive. It would open in their default web browser and they'd probably have to "Allow Blocked Content" for it to work...

Hmmm, I certainly wouldn't just send the SWF, you need the companion files as well: HTML (to launch), JS (for interactivity) and CSS (for styling).

Thank you for your response! I have been doing that for months...does that mean it's not opening as intended? Oops!

Thanks RodWall. this is what i'm going to do... they guys inthe department have never uploaded a Captivate file before - I'm thinking the klink will go tot he flash or HTML5 file that has been output. Is this correct?
