Question

Homemade LMS

We have a locally developed LMS.  We've hosted courses built in FLASH from it.  We would now like to host couses developed in Captivate that are SCORM compliant.  Any help with getting them to talk to each other would be appreciated.

I was confused and thought Connect Pro was part of the eLearning Suite and we could use it.

Thank you,

Susan

Susan,

This could be possible.  There are at least two possibilities that I've documented.  One is to launch the content as you do, today - in an HTM file, which sends the data to your LMS.  Another is to create a Flash-based wrapper which grabs data from the Captivate file and sends that to the LMS (instead of using Adobe Captivate to send, directly).  The articles I've written can be found below.

Thank you for answering.

I haven't looked at these yet but I notice they are from the connect users site. We don't use Connect. I had mistakenly thought it was included with elearning suite.

I'll look at these and ask our LMS guru to also

Thank you again.

Susan,

Don't let the website intimidate you.  A number of my recent articles are hosted on ConnectUsers.  Also, a number of articles specifically have "Adobe Connect" or "Connect" in the title - however most of them (if not all of my current articles) are NOT specific to Adobe Connect.  For example, an article about getting Flash-based content to communicate to Adobe Connect is actually about getting Flash to communicate to an AICC-based LMS, a SCORM-based LMS and Adobe Connect (which follows the AICC standard - but has additional capabilities)...

If you get a chance, feel free to peruse the articles on Connect Users.  Some of my article are [personal opinion] interesting...

Andrew
