I have a question about using All New Captivate, and I am sorry if this is a basic questions, but this software doesn't come with any instructions or manual--we are just expected to figure it out (which, when you think of it, is kinda tough!).
I want to make sure that each quiz, and interaction is completed before the learner can advance to the next slide. So I think it is 2 questions:
1) How can I mark a quiz as mandatory before the learner can proceed (Is "graded" mandatory, and "knowledge check" not mandatory?), and
2) Can I mark other interactions, such as carousel, drag and drog, or click-to-reveal, as mandatory before the learner can advance to the next slide? If so, I am somehow not seeing it.
Thank you!

First comment, maybe not appreciated, I personally hate 'mandatory' for courses meant for adults. That is just my professor background.
Quiz slides in the new version mostly took over the structure and ideas from the older versions. Not for design as you already experienced because they are not apt for customization. A Knowledge Check slide by default is not scored, a Quiz slide is scored. This explanation of the difference - for the older version - is still mostly valid:

Some features are still lacking or buggy. There are no question pools, you are not able to define a penalty for a MCQ with multiple correct answers and partial scoring, FIB type is missing, Short answer is still completely useless for scoring (like it has always been).
Making them mandatory could be done by changing the field 'Mandate' in Quiz Preferences. However I didn't check it out yet because that caused a lot of issues in older versions and I avoided it completely. I am breaking my promise not to help for the new Captivate again.
Alternative: I sincerely regret that Quiz Preferences no longer have the option 'Hide playbar during Quiz' because that is the only way to skip questions if you take out the Skip button (which is the case by default). I have a workaround, but it is not up to me to write the Workaround Help as I did in the past.
For the second question about interactions, widgets: that would be a breeze in Captivate Classic. I have tons of examples on my blog. They all need shared or advanced actions and variables. Variables are still there. The Adobe team claims that shared/advanced actions can be replaced by interactions. Sure... I created some examples. They take at least 5 times as long as any advanced action and can only be reused with Copy/Paste and editing. No parameters like is the case with Shared actions, where you only have to replace the parameters. Sorry... not my piece of cake.

Lilybiri thank you so much! I will read your blog post later today and I am sure I will learn a lot from it.
And by the way I cringe at the word mandatory, too--and pedagocially we would probably have a great conversation! But in certain cases I will need to make some activities mandatory before proceeding on, so to make things simpler on the forum I am just asking the technical question without explaiing the pedagocical reasoning. But I don't mind you sharing that opinion at all, about disliking mandatory!
Thank you again for sharing! I appreciate it as always. I sense you are getting tired of solving for Adobe's deficiencies. You must feel deflated at all the work you put into your blog, and now he very software you invested yourself in is disappearing. I do feel for you. Hang in there and be good to yourself--and take a day off!!! 🙂
