Question

How to stop the Hourglass timer in Captivate 9

I want to set a time to complete four questions in the middle of a module. I am using the hourglass timer in Captivate 9. I have set the timing for the rest of the project and I have hidden the hourglass timer for the slides that come after the four questions. However, it seems that the timer continues to count down and then jumps to the 'timeout' slide (e.g. after getting the four questions correct). I am using advanced actions to determine whether the learner has got all four questions correct. Is there any way to stop the timer (e.g. in an advanced action)? There was a similar question about one year ago that doesn't seem to have been answered.

Thanks

Steve

Which output do you want? I know that timer and hourglass widget do not have the same behavior for HTML and SWF output.

It must be SWF output as some of our clients still use IE8! Thanks, Steve

It will take some time, have to explore again but discovered the differences a while ago when I used the timer for a client. If my memory is correct, it was easier for HTML5 output   Of course, you cannot use it with IE8.
