Images missing from Published Projects

When I publish my VR project to my local drive, the spherical slides are missing. I can launch the HTML file and it seems to work OK, but all I see are hotspots. No images. I'm using the publishing defaults, and all look to be in order. Is there a setting I'm missing?

You need to upload the published folder to a webserver. It is like a website, you cannot view everything locally by clicking the index.html file. VR slides are a feature which is not showing well locally.

I don't have a website to display it on. Can the LMS or Adobe Connect serve that purpose? I was able to upload to Adobe LMS but not able to view it once uploaded. My company has significant cybersecurity protocols in place for web distribution, and my little Captivate demonstrations can't get through. Being able to display locally will serve the purpose for the moment.

I was not talking about a website, but about a webserver. But now you talk about a LMS. Are you sure the LMS will accept a non-SCORM package, or did you activate Reporting in Quiz Preferences and create a SCO?

If it is a non-SCORM package you need a webserver, if it is a SCO you need a LMS to upload.

As webserver you could use AWS or the eLearning community where you can also upload Captivate output. If it is a SCO you can use your LMS.

Ah! OK, clearly I'm way over my head. I'll have to retreat and regroup. I was under the impression that Captivate was pretty simple to use and display things, sort of like PowerPoint. But I'm completely disabused of that notion now 🙂

Thank you for your patience!

I'm sorry! It used to be easier in the SWF times, but someone from a fruit company started to ban the SWF player, and HTML5 is not making it easier. You cannot use PPT  for interactive eLearning courses. Captivate is a professional elearning authoring tool, and each professional tool in any industry needs some learning.

Yes, agreed. I got carried away by the promotional videos. "Easy..., Simple..., Quick..., etc. etc." All (more or less) true until I got the server part. That's a whole 'nuther division.

Sighing, where is the line between marketing and lies? Sometimes bit blurry, but that is why I am never liked by marketing people.
