Question

Insert GIF: "This file is not an animated GIF."

I created a GIF using Photoshop and am now trying to add it to my Captivate project. However, when I go to Media > Animation and select the object, I receive the error message: "The file is not an animated GIF file."

If I open the GIF directly, it works properly. Am I missing a step here?

With the most recent version both of Captivate and Photoshop I had issues as well with Animated GIF's, created in Photoshop. I logged a bug report, but the problems are not consistent: when I'm using masks in Photoshop to create the animation, it will not play in Captivate. Animations that are only based on layers, work fine. Also you have to make sure that each frame remains at least 0,1sec. Sorry not to be able to offer more help, still trying to find out the cause of this problem.

Thanks. Good to know it wasn't just me!
