We are starting to use HTML5 responsive formats as primary output using Captivate 2017. Is it possible to also produce an MP4 output file from the HTML5 project?

Not from a responsive project, but from a normal project. How could a video change like objects in fluid boxes change? I don't understand.

The answer is no as is already given. But if you really want a video of the course, then publish and preview in a browser and demonstrate the course while recording a video demo and then publish to MP4.
