Hi Pedro,
Your first question: Captivate 5 should accept all kinds of swf files as animations. ActionScript 2 swf files may not work as expected though. So always try to use ActionScript 3 if possible.
Your second question: When you use one of those components, I think what it does is search for the XML file on your harddrive and read it. It needs to do this every time you run the movie, it can't embed the XML file inside the swf.
So when you publish your movie from Captivate, the component is trying to find the XML file, but can't. Try putting the XML file in the folder that you're publishing the Captivate Movie to. If your component is expecting to look down a number of folders to find the XML file, then you will need to copy those folders to the publish folder as well.
Also, if you upload your Captivate Movie to a web server, then you will need to upload the XML file as well.
At least that's what I think is happening. I've never really used components.
Does that solve your problem?

Are you saying that you add the animation into a Captivate project and when published it works in the SWF with XML file? If so, you should be fine.
The Captivate editing environment isn't a published SWF, so you should not expect the two different environments to look the same. They never do.
If you're saying that inserting these Flash animations into Captivate doesn't work when you try to publish, that's a different ball-game.
So which is it?

yes thats the problem that I have ...
I just add the animations ( swf ) to the captivate project but there doesn't look the same
and when I export the presentations the animation doesn't appears ... just a circle preloader, nothing else.
please what do you mean with
"Captivate editing environment isn't a published SWF"???
- I can use swf files in flash no???
- there are a speacial whay to publish the project if they have inside swf files???

Yes you can insert Flash animations into Captivate.
I'm saying that when you do, you won't see it animate until you publish it out as an SWF. So if you have an animation of a rotating wheel, you can insert it into Captivate but it won't be rotating when you look at in Captivate edit mode. It will only be moving when you Preview or Publish your movie.
My guess is that the reason these other Flash animations are not working when you insert them into Captivate projects is because of the way the programmer has created them in ActionScript. He has coded them to work when played from a web page, not when played from inside another SWF (which is what a Captivate movie is).
Have you tried setting your Captivate project preference to externalise the SWF?
Go to Preferences > Project > Publish Settings > Externalise Resources > Animations and tick the box there. Try publishing with that setting.
If this doesn't work, go back to the people you purchased the SWFs from and tell them you are trying to play them when embedded into another SWF (Captivate SWF). See if they know of anything in their coding that might mean the animation doesn't work. It will likely have something to do with where the SWF is looking for the XML file it needs in order to play. If it's buried one or more layers down inside another SWF, it won't find the XML file there, and it won't work.

...
This was very helpful RodWard at list now i can see the animation on the adobe captivate preview " but still not in the published project "
I must do something wrong when I import the swf to captivate flash
What I learn now is that if I just add the animation in this way ( insert > animation > my file )
the project doesn't recognize the swf at all...
but if I make it this way ( insert - animation slide - my file ) then I get this
(please wait a while if you can not see the video)
BUT the XML file is missing now I just get the animations with no editing ..
¿Which is the best way to insert an XML animation to my cap. projects ?
Best regards
P

Did you make sure to copy the XML file into the same folder as the published output?
Check that the XML file ends up in the same folder as the externalised animation SWF.
Captivate won't put it there for you automatically. You'll need to manually copy/paste the XML file there the first time you publish out.

Hi yes I have done that
but the result at the end is the same...
but it is interesting that during the preview I can see the animation... not 100% correct but at list part of them
If you want I will sent you a PM with a copy of the animation then you can try it your self
