Memory problems

New Here ,
Feb 25, 2014 Feb 25, 2014

I am a power user of Captivate 7 and am going crazy because the program continues to crash 20+ times a day.  I already have twice the recommended RAM.  You cannot trust a publish either without always re-testing it because the program may run out of memory and not tell you - at which time it just throws red boxes into the package instead of your nice jpg graphics.   The program also continually hangs/pauses while it goes out and looks for something.  We have already unblocked all of the recommended ports and this has NOT helped.   Does anyone have a resolution?

Any chance you are working on computer attached to a corporate network? If so you might want to make sure that none of the files Captivate generated (particularly the cache files) aren't located in networked location.

Take a look at this article I wrote for Captivate 6: http://www.cpguru.com/setting-up-adobe-captivate-6-in-a-corporate-environment/. Most of it still apply to Captivate 7.

Other than that I don't have any explanation for why you are experiencing these problems. I suppose you have tried to remove and reinstall Captivate right?
