Question

multipale mouse paths

Hello,

Is there a way to insert multiple mouse pointers or have 1 mouse make multiple paths on a single slide. I can insert 1 mouse path and sync it to the audio but the "mouse" is grayed out and it won't let me add another mouse path. Or is there a way to make a recording slide of an existing Captivate slide? I am using Captivate 5.

Thanks Randy

Why don't you do this as split over three different slides with the voiceover split between them?

If you need to show the position of the mouse cursor from the first slide, just add it as a static image to the second slide, and then the third etc.

Will this NOT do what you want to accomplish?  As I understand the problem, only one of the mouse cursors needs to be moving at any one time, correct?

    Hello,

In the logic of Captivate I do not see any sense in having multiple mouse paths on one slide: you cannot move simultaneously two mouses in an app? Perhaps I misunderstood your question.

As about recording Cp with Cp I have done that regularly to create tutorials for Captivate. Not everything will be possible but it works with 2 instances of Captivate.

    Hi Lilybri,

I have a 90 second, or so, narration in 1 of my slides which I would like to show 3 different objects in a picture in the order of what I am talking about while I am talking about them. I set the timeline of the first mouse path to start at about 5 seconds into the narration and I would like to start the second one about 15 seconds after that and the third one about 25 seconds into the slide.

    Hello,

It is much easier to spread this over multiple slides, really. The experience for the user is the same, but your developing time will be less. It seems to be a common 'misunderstanding' for a lot of users to have as much as possible on one slide. Mostly that is not the easiest way because you have a lot of snchronising work to do. Captivate can seamlessly spread actions, mouse movements (and narration) over different slides, it is its natural 'biosphere'.
