Oval tool and Fill Outer Area

Highlight boxes have a Fill Outer Area option. I don't see it for the Oval tool, but is there a way to do that with the Oval?

Sorry, but it would appear that isn't an option. You should probably suggest it to the Captivate team.

If you are intent on getting that outer area shaded, I can think of a way you might accomplish it.

Insert a blank slide.
Insert the oval as desired.
Ensure the edit area is 100% visible.
Screen capture the area and paste it into an image editor.
Use the image editor to fill the outside area with the desired color.
Fill the actual oval with a unique color. Hot pink is usually good for that.
Save the image to your hard drive and return to Captivate.
Insert the new image on the slide as an image.
Configure the oval part as transparent and set the transparency level for the outside color and you should be set.

I know this sounds a bit long and convoluted, but in practice it really isn't that bad.

Hi Rick,
Thanks for taking the time to post your clever workaround. It does work. I filled out the wish list -- if Adobe added this as a feature, it would be a lot faster to implement.
