Pictures and animation not working properly.

Hello,

When I add pictures or objects into my e-learning and sometimes add animations, the objects end up looking different. It's always around the edges of the objects. I'll add a picture at the end.

I've tried to maintain the highest quality of the pictures in the Captivate settings. Maybe I've missed something.

Maybe it's not the best of pictures, but if you look closely at the top and left arrow, around where they meet, you should see weird dots or colors around the edges.

Any idea of what the problem could be?

Kind regards,

Patrik

Hello,

I will rarely use JPEG, if possible use PNG, certainly for shapes like the one you inserted.

But even better, since you talk about Photoshop: import the PSD into Captivate, it will convert the layers to images. Are those shapes, vector images? If yes, import them as smart objects into PS.

Hello,

Yes I do see pixelation, can be do to the quality of the original image or to the slide quality settings.

You said that you kept the best quality settings in CP, what do you mean by that? The default slide quality in CP is Low (8-bit) to keep filesize down. You can change that quality to High or Optimized for those slides who need it. Did you try that? Another solution is overriding the slide quality when Publishing: deselect the 'Keep slide quality' and choose High - 24-bit.

Hello again,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I meant that I hadn't compressed the slide nor the picture in Captivate, so I use a 100% in quality and 24-bit. Before a lot of the pictures had pixelation, but after I changed to 24-bit most of it got better. Now I'm left with some pictures with pixelation and just want to get rid off the last bit so to speak.

A solution could be as you said to go back to the original file. Do you have any preferences when it comes to file format? They could be jpeg now, but could be in psd. as well.

Kind regards,

Patrik

Hi there

Another question is to ask if you are changing the size of the image in any way? Perhaps making it larger? And do you notice this in the editing view of captivate, only after you publish and view or in both places?

Cheers... Rick
