Problem reading projects published to pdf

Run into another problem.

For the last 12 months, we have been publishing pdf files for review without issue.  Over the last couple of weeks, a new set of reviewers have been unable to view the files - they open as an empty page with a TOC menu hanging off the side.

My colleagues and I are using Reader 9.3.x.  As far as we can establish, our reviewers have 9.5.2 (or higher).

We have changed nothing in our processes (that I can identify) except for who is doing the reviewing.  Using Captivate 5.0, no imported flash or actionscript items.

Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks

Lance.

Hello,

Welcome to Adobe Forums.

Which version of Adobe Captivate are you using ?

Did you try viewing those PDF files in Adobe Reader 10 ?

Thanks,

Vikram

Hi Vikram

As stated, the version is 5.0.

We have had no issue with pdf reviews for the last 11 months.

No, we have not tried Reader 10 as we do not have the ability to update software - the system is locked down and regulated to the nth degree.  For the time being, what we have is what we need to work with.

Thanks

Lance.

Hello,

Does this issue occurs with you as well (Adobe Reader 9.3 users) ?

Which OS are they using ? (New Reviewers)

Did they try to launch the same PDF with a different user account on their computer ? (New Reviewers)

Any possibilty to share a PDF, I can test on Adobe Reader 9.5.2.

Thanks,

Vikram

I am having the same issue...using Cp 6.0; all my products are up to date/lastest verson, running Mac OS 10.8.2.

If it doesn't work for me when I have all of the lasted udates, what hope do I have for my users?

This is crazy--- I do not have the ability to control what the users will view on, other than letting them know any pdf has to  be viewed on Reader 9.0 and above. The pfd use to work, what has happened?

Is there a downloadble fix?

Thanks!

Do we have a solution for this issue? The latest Adobe Reader cannot display this type of PDF correctly. It does display the empty boxes as your screen capture shows, which mean the Flash player for Reader does exist. It is the Captivate generated PDF file is incompatible with this Reader Flash player. Correct me if I am wrong, and post a solution if Adobe support people see this message.

Hi - there are a few topics going on this - check out http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1106999?tstart=0

I heard back that Adobe are aware and working on it...

Cheers,

Jac
