Progression Bar

Hello,

I am using the latest captivate 9 desktop version and would like to add a "progression bar". Basically when the users clicks on "next" button to go to the next slide, the progression bar would increase. The progression bar should be able to increase or decrease when the user either clicks on "previous" or "next" buttons.

By default, the only closest thing that relates to this is "question 1 of 20", which I would like to replace with the progression bar.

Not sure if there is a widget for this or someone already accomplished this task at hand. Been searching for awhile looking for this particular feature and any advice / links would be greatly appreciated.

Note:

I am working on a quiz application in responsive mode.

    In response to Lilybiri and Paul, thank you very much for these valuable feedbacks. My intentions was not to create an atmosphere to "air out dirty laundry" but seek professional guidance in a public forum. It is with hope that I can feel welcomed back for future support.

    In my two latest blog posts I created a progress bar, to show the number of correctly answered questions.

    A similar approach could be used, since I discovered that you can change states of an object, which is displayed for the rest of the project, from other slides than the slide where the object is inserted.

    Use this approach:

    • Create the 'bar' as a multistate object with as many states as you have slides
    • Time that object for the rest of the project
    • Create a conditional actions to be triggered On Enter for each slide; check the slide number (cpInfoCurrentSlide has that number) and show the appropriate state for that number

    Since you are on CP9 multistate objects are available. Check version number, be sure to have the latest version 9.0.2.437.

    I love the simplicity of your solution here. I know you and I have had our differences in the past but I wanted to expand on your suggestion for the sake of zMerlinz - I hope you don't mind. Here is a crude and quick video I recorded to show zMerlinz how this could be easily done.

    In Europe the ethics are much higher than in North America, will never get used to that.  I do mind what you did, perhaps the best conclusion is to stop answering questions in these forums.


    I have always proceeded from the perspective of sharing information. If I can record a video or write a blog post that answers a question or helps someone out, it's good for the entire eLearning community. I'm sorry if by expanding on your ideas I have overstepped somehow. I was trying to proceed from an amicable place but I will not make that mistake again.
