"Adobe Captivate Cached Projects" folder

Found directions on how to clear adobe captivate cache from within the application. My question now is: How can I delete (or relocate without risking program behavior or functionality when projects are re-opened) the memory consuming "Adobe Captivate Cached Projects" folder contents from my PC without ruining the impact/look/feel/function of my existing created and in -progress Cp9 projects? Please help!

If you clear the cache from within Adobe Captivate with all projects closed, there will be little or no risk to any of your project files. Once you open one of your project files in Adobe Captivate the cache files for that particular project will be recreated.

If you wish to select a new location for the cache files to reside, make sure that the location will always be accessible. For example, select a location that is located on your computer’s hard drive. External hard drives may not be a good choice and I would never select a networked location such as a corporate server located elsewhere.

 The only time you risk damaging your project is if you delete the cache folders, or your connection to that location is severed while the project file is open in Adobe Captivate. As long as you don’t migrate or delete the contents of the cache while the project is open, your projects will be generally safe.

Dumb question: Could you close the program,  create a folder that says "Adobe Captivate Cache files OLD" and just move all but the latest ones there? I might do this because I'm scared I'd lose something. In fact I ask because I've already done this and want to be sure I haven't messed myself up. So far I don't think it's caused problems but...

If you do relocate the folder, ensure it is NOT on a network drive and does NOT contain your project folder or files.

There have been some horror stories on the forums of some people using the 'clear cache' button and loosing there project files.

Ahhh...got it BDuckWorks. Thanks so much for that advice, I will pay close attention to that!
