Question

"Unknown exception error when using Multi-SCORM packager

I am trying to combine two SCORM packages using the Multi-SCORM packager but every time I try and publish, I get an "Unknown exception" error (attached).

When I click "Retry", it says the package was successfully created but nothing gets created.

I have tried cutting and pasting the slides into a new project and republishing but keep getting the same error.

The Captivate files were created and published in 5.5.

Any suggestions?

Are both these SCORM packages in Zip format when you try to import them into the Multi-SCORM Packager?  Were these zip files created in Cp5.5 by ticking the Zip option in the Publish settings or did you just zip them yourself?

Yes to both questions.

It's odd - because I have been able to do this successfully several times with similar projects with the same settings and same workflow.

These two just won't behave.

It might be that there is something in ONE of the SCORM packages that is causing the issue.

Try creating a SCORM package in the Multi-SCORM packager using just ONE of the SCOs and another one that you've been successful with before.  See if you can nail down whether only one of them is the issue or whether both cause a failure.

If only one is causing the failure, investigate whether there may be some component in this SCO that is tripping up the multi-SCORM packager.  There must be something about this package that is at fault.
