resize text placeholder

Community Beginner ,
Nov 30, 2015 Nov 30, 2015

I am trying to set up my theme, but when I duplicate a slide so that all the placeholders are in the same place, when I try to resize the placeholder, it is stuck on constrain proportions. This means I can't go from one large text placeholder to having two columns for example.

Any tips? I'm on Captivate 9.

Hi Lorraine,

Have you gone to the 'position' tab on the right when you have the text caption selected and made sure that you don't have either the width or height set as 'auto'?

Sometimes if you have, say, the height set as % and the width set as 'auto', when you change the height, it will change the width also.

Apologies if this doesn't address the issue you were having, but otherwise I help it's helped!

Mike

Hi there,

Can you please elaborate little more on the scenario.

1. Responsive/ normal project

2.  Is it happens with the specific project (might be corrupted) or in any project?

3. Is duplicate action performed from the master slide/ Master slide used in filmstrip

Thanks,

Rahinie.

Hi Rahinie,

1. It's a responsive project.

2. I just created a new project (also responsive) and it seems to be doing the same thing.

This is what I did.

  1. Used a blank master slide in the theme
  2. Put in a Text Caption placeholder and made it take up the whole area

  3. Duplicated the slide
  4. Tried to resize the placeholder so that it only takes up 50% of the width but stays the same height, but even when I use the side centre handle, it acts as if I have Constrain Proportions turned on somewhere.

I hope that makes things easier to understand.

Thank you.

Lorraine.

Hi Lorraine,

Right click the text caption place holder-> Align, check whether Center horizontally on slide / Center vertically on slide is checked. If so, uncheck it and try.

Thank,

Rahinie.

I would like to see the Position Properties panel for this placeholder.
