Running Adobe Captivate 2019 without admin priviledge

You can use Captivate without the 'Run as Administrator' privilege but it could cause you problems in some situations. The best known situation is for recording Video Demo or Software Simulations. If you don't need those, that is fine. Moreover saving custom themes or preferences also can cause issues.  Of course you will not be able to edit any file in the installation folder neither (like changing the AdobeCaptivate.ini file or replacing the HTML images). Most assets like layouts, custom shapes,... are accessible without that Run as Admininstrator priviliege because they are in a duplicate folder in your profile. Some are not (excel spreadsheet for CSV import).

Discussions with IT can be tough, you have to persuade them about the importance of the request to have the unique Run As Administrator setting for Captivate.

Ask your IT department to grant just the application Adobe Captivate to run with Admin rights. Usually, this involved IT making a unique shortcut that elevates just the one application. It can be done. My last job in a corporate environment was able to set this up. It took the IT person about 60 seconds to set it up.

That said, I run Adobe Captivate without administrator rights every day and I don't experience any problems that some people complain about. Most of the problems seem to be related to not have a sufficient GPU or an underpowered machine.
