Running Adobe Captivate 8 from an SSD or VN

I have a single license to Adobe Captivate 8.  Due to an upcoming policy change, my desktop will require a quarterly reimage and I want to protect the Cap 8 install.  It was very difficult downloading it from the cloud and I don't want to have to go through that again and again.  Is it possible/legal to run the software from a virtual machine or a dedicated SSD, allowing my organization to reimage as often as needed without compromising my install?  If on an SSD, please note that the OS would be on the HD and not the SSD.

I often run Captivate on a VM, no problem.
