Hi there,

I had a big project based upon videos. It has 9 titles and each title includes more than 10 slides with "slide sync videos" on each. The Captivate smashed each time when I tried to publish because of size I guess. So I decided to divide it into 9 parts and uploaded them into a server. I created my table of contents and "open URL or file" action made it worked in this way. My question is, I want to upload it into a LMS but every title is a separate project now. How can I make one "single" SCORM to put it as one course. Help will be appreciated. Thanks...

Note: I use Capt 8.

Did you try to use the SCORM Aggregator?

The Aggregator is not for SCORM.  I think Lieve might be thinking of the Multi-SCORM Packaging tool that comes with Captivate.

However, under the SCORM standard no SCO is supposed to directly call another SCO.  It's supposed to allow the LMS to provide the links that allow the learner to launch each SCO one at a time.  So your idea of using Open URL or File is not a good one.  Unless the LMS handles the launching of each SCO it will not know to capture and record the interaction data.

If you are publishing to SCORM 2004 then you also have the option of specifying sequencing rules for the SCOs in a multi-SCORM course.

Thanks Rodward,

Exactly that is what I'm looking for. But, if I publish it to scorm 2004, will it be a solution for the situation you explained ( sco calling another sco issue )?? Thanks again.

The SCORM 2004 standard in that respect is the same as SCORM 1.2.  No SCO is supposed to directly call another SCO.  By definition a SCORM object is supposed to be entirely standalone and not require anything from another SCO object.  The LMS handles the launching and tracking of the SCOs.

You need to work within the SCORM rules, otherwise you may find that your LMS will not be tracking the second or third SCO that the learner is interacting with.

Rodward sorry for my limited knowledge of this subject but how can I "work within the SCORM rules" please? Thanks...
