Seeking Assistance with Persistent Adobe Captivate Issues

My colleague and I have been encountering persistent challenges while working with Adobe Captivate Charm to create interactive training videos. Despite our efforts to troubleshoot, certain issues persist and hinder our progress. I've emailed Captivate Help a month ago and haven't heard anything back from them.

Outlined below are the issues we have been experiencing:

  1. Navigation Buttons: The buttons to navigate to the next slide sometimes work inconsistently during preview modes and fail to function in the published versions, despite being correctly linked.
  2. Unexpected Slide Transitions: There have been instances where slides transition unexpectedly, leading to confusion during playback.
  3. Text-to-Speech Functionality: The text-to-speech feature occasionally fails to complete sentences at the end, impacting the overall quality of the narration.
  4. Clickable Objects: Clickable objects, such as checkboxes, cease to function after being used once, necessitating repeated troubleshooting.
  5. "Something Went Wrong" Error: We've encountered instances where slides abruptly transition to a "something went wrong" page, disrupting the user experience.

Any insights, recommendations, or troubleshooting steps you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your attention to this matter.

You posted this same question twice? As moderator I normally answer all questions, except when I feel not to be able to help. That new version has crashed more times for me than all older versions in 2 decades. I don't use it for that reason for my clients (I am a consultant/trainer). At this moment I doubt that there are real experts around for this new version. The fact that even the staff is not reacting means a lot. Did you log all those problems in the influitive forum which you can reach from within Captivate?

I am very sad about all those issues and the lack of support, but I am incompetent to help you. My work version is 11.5.5.553 which is stable, rather bug-free and has all the features which I need.  Classic Captivate (11.8.2) has a lot of bugs as well and lost some useful features as well.

The support team finally replied back and suggested software update to Captivate 12.2. I doubt if it solves the errors but I will see.

Today the update to version 12.3 has been released, you may skip version 12.2.

It has some interesting new features: CSV import for questions, import SRT and VTT for Closed Captioning.

I've just updated and checked those errors briefly.

  1. Navigation Buttons: seems fixed
  2. Unexpected Slide Transitions: still same - maybe need to record that section again and could be ok...?
  3. Text-to-Speech Functionality: seems fixed
  4. Clickable Objects: still same
  5. "Something Went Wrong" Error: seems fixed

Hi @Yejoo33642601prek , when you click a checkbox does any error message pop up or does the preview freeze?
