Self-paced learning - does it ever reset?

I have a question about the self-paced learning feature. It's a feature that I'd like to use, but I have a concern about it. Say a learner completes a module. In our system, they may be assigned to take the same module again a couple months later. If they take that same module again, and they haven't cleared their browser cookies/cache, won't captivate prompt them to return to the last slide they viewed, rather than start from the beginning? Does the self-paced learning ever reset in the case of multiple viewings? I thought it might reaching the last frame, but it did not.

If you have NOT turned on any kind of LMS reporting in the Quiz settings then you should still be able to use Self-paced Learning, and yes it will remember that your user reached the last slide.  As far as I am aware there is no reset period or timeout defined.

Your post seems to indicate you are delivering the modules from a 'system', perhaps an LMS?

If so, you need to be aware that turning on LMS Reporting disables Self-paced Learning bookmarking because the modules will then be expecting you to use Resume Data bookmarking instead.

So if using an LMS, using Self-paced Learning is not really an option anymore.

We do not have a "true LMS" but rather a safety application built in-house. It can automatically assign training in the way that an LMS can, but it was not designed to have all of the features of an LMS. Therefore we need to use the self-paced learning option if we wish to enable bookmarking. So my original question still stands - if the user is assigned the same module a month after the first time, won't self-paced learning prompt him to resume where he left off, which would be the last slide?
