Shapes not working in Captivate 9.0.2.437 Mac

 I am trying to draw a shape.   When I select the shape I get the crosshair until it touches the slide, then it disappears and no shape.  I can see a dashed outline if I drag it outside the slide, even going into the slide, but no shape appears. Mac OS X 10.9.5  32GB RAM.

    Please verify that the slide is not locked in the timeline.

    (Normally, this should disable the menu icons, but this isn't really normal behavior!)

    The slide is not locked. I will try to uninstall and reinstall.

    Please upgrade to OSX 10.11 and check

    At the present time, I do not have the time to upgrade and hope it works as I am trying to meet a deadline.
