How do I enable slides to work like PowerPoint: i.e. spacebar plays next slide? I am working with a large worldwide sales team and not able to reinvent their presentation process.
Thanks.

If you are using Next buttons, simply assign the space bar as the shortcut.
If you are not using Next buttons on the screen, you could place a transparent button or click box somewhere on your slide. Assign the Go To Next Slide action to the On Success and the space bar as the shortcut.

Thank you Lance for your prompt response. I was able to add the shortcut to the click box, but I believe the spacebar key is not an shortcut option in Captivate 6. If there is a workaround or ActionScript method, please let me know, otherwise, your answer was the answer I was after.
Thanks again.

Apologies. Didn't even occur that you wouldn't be able to assign the space bar as a shortcut.
Will look around and see what I can come up with.
Once again, apologies.
Lance.

I'm having the same problem. When trying to assign a shortcut key in the "Action" box, all keys appear to work, EXCEPT the Spacebar. Does anyone know if a patch is available?

Hi ,
I Think you will not be able to assign the spacebar as a shortcut on a button to play next slide because it will conflict with the browser shortcut.
Spacebar itself have some task assigned to it in terms of browser . You can use any of the keys except spacebar.
Thanks

Thanks for your response Himanshu - So is the Spacebar browser shortcut new? Reason asking, I just converted Captivate 4 interactions to Captivate 6. In "4" the Spacebar worked perfectly, and is used in many of my interactions as a Linux shortcut key. Do you know of any other way to assign Spacebar in "6" - I'm wondering if this is more of an oversight by Adobe. I can only image how many others are having this same problem.

Major issue for our company as well. We build software simulations for our clients. The spacebar is essential for when we ask learner to type in a field and screen is updating with every key... very common nowadays. We need a workaround at least that won't cause an interuption in the learning experience. The client requires us to use Cp6 and now I have to tell them that the design of the interaction has to change in a way that is not in line with the way their employees use the software.
