Question

Stop slides from auto-advancing

I've seen several posts on this in prior years, but hoping there is now an easy solution.

How can I set a default so that presentation stops at the end of each slide (to give learners time to read the content and control the pace, etc.)? On exit does not seem to work, since it pauses at the start of the next slide.

Thanks for any pointers!

I have posted this solution several times already. For me this is the easiest way (pausing slides at the end of each slide is usual for presentations, but not at all for eLearning, sorry for that comment):

    • Go to the main master slide in the Master slide panel
    • Insert a shape button (shape which you Use as button) on that master slide, set its fill Alpha to 0 and the stroke width to 0 to make that shape button invisible. You can make it very small somewhere near the end of the slide
    • Check if the default setup is correct in the tab Actions (Pause and no Hand cursor)

Each slide based on the main master slide (which is used in almost all daughter master slides) will now pause at the end of its timeline, whatever its duration.
