Swf compilation challenge

New Here ,

I have been reading the forums and have tried the following:

*making sure slide names are different

*clearing my captivate cached projects folders

*going through each text caption and object to see if there is a duplicate name (can I name these anything? I was wary of screwing something up i.e Text_Caption 23 can be named anything or?)

*systematically hiding slides and systematically hiding "visibility' of certain objects and interactions

*literally deleting all slides in a copy and trying to publish or do full preview with  still the same issue.

*force republish of slides

*checking my Java to see if it is up to date

*all Submit buttons have the same name: [Default Quiz Button Style] but I assume this is fine.

I tried to open a new project and "copy my slides into a new project" in order to see if it would force renaming, but it does not paste the slide correctly and maintain the template.

I have no idea re: finding the Captivate file, (#8 on this)

http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate-troubleshooting/basic-troubleshooting-techniques

Every time it gets to about 80% and fails. Any other suggestions?  Flash issues or? I tried Flahs Player 10 and 11 Version.

The fact that I have deleted many slides and still have an issue indicates something in my preferences or I am doing somethign silly in my publish section?

Have you tried refreshing all of Captivate? For example, close Captivate if it's open, and if Windows 7, go to C:/Users/[your user name]/AppData/Local/Adobe and rename the folder "Captivate 7.0" to "Captivate 7.0 Old". Then re-open Captivate. A new folder will be created in that Adobe folder and you can delete the "Captivate 7.0 Old" folder you had renamed. That will set Captivate 7 back to its original settings, not just by project, and not just clearing cache.

Sorry, I did not mention I am Mac.   I have not tried this yet, I will see if I can figure out where this folder is.

Thank you Evan for your help. I renamed old, deleted it, but still not working. I sent it to someone who has C7 (windows but) the .cptx folder to see if he can create a file on it. This will verify my computer is not set up correctly somewhere, though I suspect that is the issue anyway.

So I thought to try out creating a new captivate and throw a couple slides in and publish. It worked. Therefore, back to a bug within the file.
